Come and meet our 2 friendly Donkey's (Poppy & Negrita) a firm favourite with the children.

La Petite maison is a two bedroomed gite that sleeps 4 comfortably,or 6 as we have a sofa bed for 2 persons, ideal if you have extra children or want to bring the grandparents. Our property is a renovated old farmhouse set in beautiful countryside near the small hamlet of Bujadelle. The stone-built 'Petite Maison' is situated on the end of our barn, facing due South, with a terrace and private garden along the front overlooking our walnut orchard,meadow and part of our 42 acre estate. It is totally independent from our property and has a separate driveway.The charm of La Petite Maison, the unspoilt peaceful countryside, wildlife, and the beautiful city of Périgueux with it's designer boutiques and bistro's.

ACTIVITIES: La Petite Maison provides an ideal base for many activities. A large selection of documentation and information is provided in the gîte for you to consult at leisure.

*Swimming: shared use of owners pool (10m x 5m, solar heated cover brand new this season built to 2008 safety regulations with a stepped 'Roman' end), badminton,darts, table tennis,boules, Monopoly, backgammon, etc…

*Walking and cycling: there are many marked footpaths, maps are provided and mountain bikes can be arranged when you book.

*Fishing: short term licences (30€ for 15 days) are easily arranged and maps are provided.

*Tennis and horse riding within a few minutes drive (horse riding 17€/hour or 33€/half-day).

*Canoeing on the rivers Dronne, Vézère and Dordogne.

*Sightseeing: castles, prehistoric caves, beautiful medieval cities and villages, fortified churches, wonderful natural scenery, markets etc. *Gastronomy: many excellent restaurants for all budgets, from country cuisine to true gourmet food.

*Music: classical music festivals held in historic buildings throughout the Dordogne.

*Other activities: the famous vineyards of Bergerac and Saint Emilion are within easy driving distance as is Limoges for visiting the porcelain museum and factories and Cognac for visiting the distilleries.

ACCOMMODATION:

UPSTAIRS: sleeps 4. Rooms have beams and sloping ceilings.

*Master bedroom with double bed, original beams and a pretty french window.

*Smaller twin-bedded room. Original beams and a velux window.

DOWNSTAIRS is marble tiled throughout.

*Living/dining room fully refurbished to a high standard. French doors lead out onto the terrace. There is a woodburning stove(logs included if required). Flat screen T.V. English satalite programs. A feature spiral staircase takes you to the two upstairs bedrooms.

*Sofa bed sleeps 2.

*Small kitchen well equipped with patio door leading onto the terrace with B.B.Q area and the private garden.

* Shower-room with WC:Corner shower unit and solid wood sink unit fully refurbished to a high standard.Heated towel rail.

*Terrace, equipped with a table and chairs for eating outside and a barbecue. Overlooking the garden area and our walnut orchard.

 

*Swimming pool 10 x 5m solar cover heated pool shared access with the owners and Fig Tree cottage. Sun beds and towels are provided for your relaxation.

SITUATION: Bujadelle is 4 kilometres south of Sorges village, 17 kilometres north-east of Perigueux,

Nearest Airports Bregerac and Limoges both only 80km from the property.

150 kilometres inland from Bordeaux (international airport), 480 kilometres south of Paris.

INFORMATION:

*Rentals run from Saturday to Saturday arrivals after 5 pm, departures by 11 am.

*Bed linen, household linen and towels are provided.

*Mountain bikes available free of charge subject to availabilty.

*Water, gas (for cooker) and electricity ,firewood for heating ,are also included (in the summer months only).

*Child minding (by arrangement): 8 € (£ 5.25) per hour.

Please note a 25% non-refundable deposit is required on booking, the balance being payable 6 weeks before your arrival.A security deposit of 150 € (or £100) payable in cash on arrival which is refunded within 2 weeks of your departure provided there is no damage or breakages during your stay. If you would prefer the security deposit could be given back on your departure once the gite has been checked for any breakages by the owners. Your travel insurance should include appropriate cancellation cover.
