If you enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, then this lovely 19th century stone built farmhouse is ideal.

'La Fermette' rests in the undulating countryside of the 'Perigord Vert' region of the Dordogne. Surrounded by forests, rivers, castles and caves, it is situated in a small hamlet where the only noise you hear is the occasional farm tractor and the songs of birds. There are beautiful views all around and from the sitting room and balcony, you can see the picturesque village of Coutures lying peacefully down in the valley below.

The house is set in 3000 square metres of mature grounds with trees, shrubs and grass. The swimming pool is surrounded with decking and has security measures which conform to the legislation introduced in May 2004 by the French government.

There is a terrace and a lovely courtyard, plenty of garden furniture and barbecue equipment to make the most of outside living.

The whole house was totally and sympathetically restored to a high standard three years ago, with a beautiful open fire, exposed beams and 'pierres apparentes'. It contains all modern conveniences, a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc. There is satellite television, video recorder and a telephone from which you can make local calls. There is gas central heating.

There are two double bedrooms, one with en suite shower room and w.c. Two spacious and well furnished mezzanines with three single beds and baby's cot. One communal bathroom with bath and shower and separate w.c.

We provide bed linen and towels.

Coutures, which is only one kilometre down the road has a lovely roman church and a restaurant 'Le Petit Coutures' where you can eat good regional food at reasonable prices. It also sells some items of grocery and fresh bread to order.

The small town of Verteillac, 6 kilometres away has an extremely useful shop 'Merlaud' where you can find just about anything you want and where all the locals seem to meet. Riberac with its supermarket 'Leclerc' and excellent market on Fridays is just 12 kilometres from here.
