This charming, spacious farmhouse with its own private entrance and parking, is set on the outskirts of the quiet hamlet of Lapouge but within easy reach of all main facilities. The surrounding fields and woods have plenty of wildlife and wild flowers with miles of bridle pathways. Excellent for bird watching, rambling and walking. Very quiet but not isolated.

Accommodation

Ground floor: All tiled - entrance hall with separate toilet. Fully fitted kitchen/dining area with large farmhouse table seating 10 plus a high chair. A very large comfortable lounge with a wood-burning stove, two x 3 seater comfortable sofas and four armchairs. Freebox satellite TV with video & DVD player, plus a video and book library both for children & grown-up's!! French doors open onto the patio and pool area.

First floor: - stairs from hall lead up to a galleried landing. Two large double bedrooms with wardrobes and dressing tables, three twin bedrooms with wardrobes (+ coathangers) and bedside tables. All bedrooms are carpeted. A bathroom with toilet and also a separate shower room. A furnished veranda overlooks lakes and woodlands, lit at night with fairy lights so you may relax with your drinks!! Cot and child gate available.

The french doors from the lounge open onto a paved patio area which has a large bench table & parasol, at the side is a courtyard furnished for outdoor dining & a BBQ. There is a lawned garden, cushioned sunloungers and fenced private pool with floaties! (10x5mts). Pets welcome. Garden fully fenced. Bed linen bath and hand towels provided. Pool towels available for a nominal cost. Shopping service available, catering can be arranged.

On site there is a boules court, badminton, volleyball, footy area,  use of bicycles -4 adult, 4 children (helmets & baby seat available).

Field archery - recurve and longbow, free lessons and practise on site. Tuition from 2008 French National Historic Longbow Gold Medal winner, 2008 Dordogne Longbow points-score champion.  Afternoon target shooting through woodland 5€ per person.

There will be a welcome pack of wine, beer, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter, bread & preserve waiting for you.

Location- the village of St Estèphe – 1km – has a recreational lake with a moored diving platform in a designated swimming area, fenced children's activity areas, boardwalks, picnic benches, restaurant, cafés with bars, boules and a tennis court. In July and August there is also a lifeguard and free use of canoes & kayaks. In the village is a mini–market with café, bakery, post office & general store bar and brocante.

There is an excellent Auberge 1.5kms (dine in or take-away)and a fabulous farmhouse restaurant just 10 mins by car.

The town of Piègut is 5 kms, has all main facilities and an extensive Wednesday morning market.

Nontron -9kms – has all main facilities, a large Saturday market and a famous knife making factory which is open to the public.

There is local horse riding (1km), carp fishing, International standard Kart and Quad track (9kms) with adults and children's tracks, many ancient sites, châteaux and caves.

The vineyard of St Sornin, 25mins, tour/taste/buy!!

The beautiful château town of Brantôme, 30kms, has a Friday market, summer farmers market, and restaurants. Canoeing/kayaking, climbing available. Take a boat ride around the town or a canoe ride down river to Bourdeilles.

The fabulous painted caves & limestone formations of the Grottes de Villars 25mins.

There are many local village fêtes during the summer.

Limoges airport -1hr 15mins is now serviced from Liverpool, East Midlands & Stansted.

Bergerac airport -1hr 40mins is now serviced from Birmingham & Leeds/Bradford.
