Holiday cottage in the Dordogne near Riberac. Péyrillault, a 17th century former farming hamlet, is located in countryside just 10 minutes away from the bustling market town of Ribérac. There are two cottages on the property. Mistral cottage can accommodate parties of up to 8 people. 

The cottage is light and airy with glorious views. On the ground floor, there is a large kitchen / dining room with original features such as an old stone sink, a beautiful fireplace fitted with a good wood burning stove, a large sitting room, a double bedroom which opens onto the courtyard and a bathroom. On the first floor, there is a children's room (with four single beds with plenty of room for playing!) and a double bedroom with ensuite shower room (with great shower!) and adjoining dressing room with stone fireplace.

The kitchen is well equipped with a large gas oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, toaster, and coffee maker. The cottage has a good selection of books, a television with UK satellite television connection, video player (we have plenty of videos), dvd player and a portable radio/cd player.

Mistral has a pretty cottage garden (attracting lots of butterflies, dragonflies, hummingbird hawk moths, glow worms at night and in Spring the occasional hare!) to the front and a paved courtyard to the rear, which is a great place for barbeques and for watching the spectacular sunsets. The swimming pool (9.5m x 5m) is set in a pretty walled courtyard and is shared with our small cottage which sleeps 2 adults and two children.

We also have a barn, which is shared by both cottages where we keep the table tennis table, indoor and outdoor games and videos.

The whole property is surrounded by rolling hills, wild flower meadows and woodland dotted with many species of orchids, and fields of sunflowers, wheat and maize. The area is perfect for activities such as painting, bird watching (we get golden orioles, hoopoes, barn owls, nightingales, etc.), horse riding, walking, golf, tennis, cycling, and canoeing. There are also many beautiful towns, villages, gardens and chateaux to explore nearby as well as caves (with paintings), vineyards, good restaurants and local markets to visit.
