Starling Lodge is a second property owned and run by the proprietors of Les Quatre Chenes, an established 4 star rated holiday home also advertised on this site. Newly renovated 18th century farmhouse providing a luxury holiday home for up to 8 people.

Central Lounge has open gallery to upstairs rooms.  The ancient oak beams and exposed stone walls make this a lovely room equipped with satelite TV, DVD, and CD player. 2nd "snug" lounge, ideal for putting your feet up and reading a book or for the younger members of the party who want to play some games. 

An exceptionally large kitchen with dining for 8 comfortably.  Kitchen has electric cooker with gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher.Direct access from the kitchen onto the beautiful veranda which gives you breathtaking views of the garden.  The perfect spot to watch the sun going over a glass of regional wine.

Large ground floor bedroom with double bed.  Perfect for the disabled or elderly person. Bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle.

Upstairs ther are 3 bedrooms, 1 double and 2 twin rooms.  Cot Available. Bathroom with shower cubicle.

The swimming pool, (10m x 5m), has a security system for the safety of younger children.

Rental charges include all bedlinen, pillows and duvets, towels and tea towels (including pool towels). Welcome food pack.

Free babysitting service by owners. Ample private parking. Picnic area, football net, badminton, table tennis, darts,trampoline and childrens climbing frame are just a few of the facilities available at Starling Lodge.

Activities in the immediate area include: a superb golf course with inexpensive green fees, fishing (licence 30 Euros per week grants permission to fish anywhere on the Dordogne), bird-watching, walking, canoeing & kayaking, tennis, horse riding, hot air ballooning, gliding, local Bridge club.

The old bastide town of Ste Foy La Grande is quite beautiful and has an excellent Saturday market with a wealth of local produce and many other items. Bergerac with it's shops, boutiques & restaurants is just 15 minutes drive. The picturesque old town leads down to the river where boat trips are available in the summer.
