Starling Lodge is a second property owned and run by the proprietors of Les Quatre Chenes, an established 4 star rated holiday home also advertised on this site. Newly renovated 16th century barn providing a luxury holiday home for up to 10 people.

Huge central lounge has open gallery to upstairs rooms. The ancient oak beams and exposed stone walls make this a really grand room with breathtaking view directly across the pond to the oak trees at the far side of the landscaped gardens.

Main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (hydro bath & massage shower cabin).A connecting door links to new B&B unit which has 2 en-suite bedrooms, lounge and breakfast room. This gives a total of 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms plus second lounge. Guests may rent either or both of these extra bedrooms for larger parties. Hence, the lodge is easily adapted to sleep 6, 8 or 10 people in real comfort - no mezzanines or bunk beds. Starling Lodge has full, newly installed, central heating for your comfort in out of season bookings.

Everything is Starling Lodge is brand new and very high quality.

Kitchen has electric cooker with gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. Both lounges have satelitte TV, video, DVD and CD player. There is a landline telephone for which guests can buy a card at the local shop.

Very large, covered patio with bar-b-que. Ground floor bedroom and kitchen each have a door leading directly on to this. Ideal for disabled guests.

The private swimming pool, (10m x 5m), has a security system for the safety of younger children.

Rental charges include all bedlinen (changed weekly), pillows and duvets, towels and tea towels (including pool towels), gas, electricity, central heating and water. Very generous welcome fridge and food pack.

Free babysitting service by owners. Ample private parking. Picnic area, football net, badminton, table tennis, darts, boule and bicycles.

Activities in the immediate area include: a superb golf course with inexpensive green fees, fishing (licence 30 Euros per week grants permission to fish anywhere on the Dordogne), bird-watching, walking, canoeing & kayaking, tennis, horse riding, hot air ballooning, gliding, local Bridge club.

The old bastide town of Ste Foy La Grande is quite beautiful and has an excellent Saturday market with a wealth of local produce and many other items. Bergerac with it's shops, boutiques & restaurants is just 15 minutes drive.
