Market

Every Friday there is a great market in Riberac which is improving every year. Here you can buy local produce like foie gras, pinaud, home grown vegetables. There are also many stalls selling local arts and crafts, clothes, linen. Sit out in one of the many cafes enjoying the sounds and sights. Meet your friends for a gossip.

Supermarkets

Riberac boasts two large supermarkets - Intermarche and Le Clercs. The latter is open through lunchtime and both are open until around 7pm. If you are unable to get to either of these then in the middle of the town is a useful Co-Op which isopen on Sunday morning.

Shops

The town has ,lots of small shops and of course several Tabacs and Boulangeries. Of note is the fresh fish van which comes to the town at the weekends. Here you can order fish platters for the following week. Mmmm!!

HORSE RIDING: Equestrian centres at Aubeterre, Verteillac & Bonnes. The centre near Auberterre charges 20 euros for an hour and a half.

CANOEING: available locally on the River Dronne at Aubeterre and further afield at various towns and villages along the Dordogne and Charente rivers.

FISHING: at Saint Severin, Aubeterre, Vendoire, and Celles.

Visit the caves at Villars, Dordogne . See the amazing geological formations and the cave paintings.

Wine tasting Many areas to try the local wines within an hour or so e.g St Emilion, Bergerac, or Bordeaux

Shopping Angouleme and Perigueux offer a wide variety of shops and vast hypermarkets

Local Festivals. Almost every village in the area holds its own “Fête” during the summer months, usually featuring fairground rides and often a bric-a-brac sale and a spectacular firework display for its finale
