Les Tournesols really is an exclusive holiday home in the Dordogne which was completely renovated in 2001 to an exceptional standard. Our holiday home is spacious, tastefully decorated and offers every modern convenience which compliment the tranquillity and beauty of the Dordogne.

With five large bedrooms there is accommodation for up ten people. All have all been individually decorated and furnished. Rose, Iris and Daffodil have double beds, en-suite facilities, wardrobes, table and chairs. Sunflower has two single beds and the same facilities.All linens and towels are changed on a weekly basis. A spacious central hallway connects the four bedrooms upstairs and provides an area for reading, jigsaws, and board games.

The downstairs bedroom has a double bed and is decorated in the classic French style. There is an elegant large bathroom downstairs with a bath, shower, toilet and basin in the classic style .The south facing kitchen, dining room and lounge offer access to the terrace.

A large family kitchen has all the modern facilities of a washing machine, dishwasher, large gas cooker, fridge/freezer ,micro-wave and coffee machine.The light airy lounge with the focal point of a large open fire, has satellite TV,video, DVD, and CD player. The interconnecting dining room has a large table and chairs which can be used inside and outside and there is an additional fridge.

The property is set in the grounds of an old Monastery, many of the walls have been restored, one dating back to 1753, and form a stunning backdrop to each of the areas , the pool area and individual gardens.

The four acres naturally descend from the house to the boundary of the land in different levels, each not visible from the other so a journey through the garden is magical and exciting.

Scattered throughout the grounds are are strategically placed seats offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside.A special one is situated at the top near the petanque court - the outstanding vista is complimented by the scents of lavender, thyme, and rosemary.

Below the terrace is a formal garden which acts as an extension of the house for eating and relaxation. Sturdy outside tables and chairs are all provided so you can make the most of the wonderful weather the Dordogne enjoys.

A herb garden at one end leads to a large shady, grassy area next to the petanque court for quiet reading or cheering your team.Steps to the pool area make their descent through one of the massive walls of the old monastery and open out to a large area with a picnic bench under a pergola which enjoys superb views and is close enough for supervision of the pool.

We have a large pool 11 x 5 x 1.5 metres , it has the regulation alarms, a fence and a spring lock on the gate. An expanse of grass with trees and plants enclosed by a laurel hedge surround the pool and offers shade and tranquillity.The pool is maintained on a daily basis by the owner. The sparkling water can be viewed from over the wall of the formal garden, and swifts circling in the evening is a wonderful sight. There are sunbeds and parasols and as it faces south, it is a natural sun trap.

The owner ,who lives on site in a separate house,is responsible for the maintenance of the pool and grounds, cleaning and linens to ensure we maintain the highest possible standard.
