Dordogne Farmhouse. Self-catering holiday home near Issac, near Mussidan

Dordogne, Perigordine farmhouse. Our self-catering holiday home, with swimming pool, is spacious, totally private and fully equipped to provide excellent accommodation for your self-catering holiday.

An 18thC stone-built Perigordine-style house with a large 12m x 6m Pool in a beautiful, quiet location.  Private, not at all overlooked and with no passing traffic.   2.5 acres of fenced garden with paddock, orchard, and sealed well. Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms plus one single and 2 en-suites.  Downstairs, there is a large lounge, a really convivial, fully equipped kitchen/diner and a big double bedded room next to the family bathroom. 

The property has been fully renovated retaining its old character with a large, original fireplace in the lounge and original oak beams visible throughout.  It is situated in a hamlet of just 8 properties; there is a wonderful feeling of space and openness but the house is surrounded by woodland which deer peacefully wander through.

The house is superbly equipped with English Satellite television and a widescreen TV, plus DVD and Video players (will plenty of DVDs and Videos for you to use) and you could have some really fun times with the Jukebox full of rock ‘n’ roll and 60s hits.  In the kitchen, there is dishwasher, microwave and a dual fuel range cooker.  Of course, there are also fridges and freezers, kettle and coffee machine. 

You will appreciate that the property has been furnished and equipped as a main home rather than a holiday let and in fact this is the first year the property is being made available for holiday rentals.   Books and jigsaw puzzles are available for your use.  In the barn there is a pool table.  For the children there is a 12 foot diameter trampoline with safety enclosure and numerous toys for the younger ones, including a covered sand pit.

The south facing terrace and garden are wonderful for barbecues and the children have plenty of room to play outside.

Note that the upstairs bedroom arrangements consist of:-

1. A double room (with 4 poster bed and air conditioning unit) leading to another double room – the shower room/toilet is off the latter room.
2. A double room leading to a room with a single bed which also has a small child’s bed convertible to a cot – the shower room/toilet is off the single room.

There is a washing machine in the utility room.

Plenty of parking space near the house.

The pool is fitted with an alarm and surrounded by paving giving ample space for the sun loungers.   

The tariff includes bed linen and towels and is per week for the entire property.  A damage deposit of £400 will be charged which when all is well will be returned to you within 10 days of the end of your stay.  Changeover day is Saturday but mid-week bookings may be considered but not during the peak or high seasons.

To ensure that the house is ready for you, you are asked to not arrive before 4pm.   On departure day, you are requested to be away from the property by 10am at the very latest.
