Cottage in the country near St Lo

Lovely detached stonebuilt cottage-originally the farm's bakery.Loads of character, totally secluded yet ideally situated to explore Normandy's many interesting  historical sitesand attractions. 

LA BOULANGERIE  is  a 300 year old property which retains the original bread oven for the farm, numerous oak beams and some exposed stone work.

 It has been restored to retain its original character but at the same time to offer a comfortable  holiday home with modern conveniences.

The gîte is situated by a  small stream and  is pleasantly secluded. There is a patio with BBQ, table and chairs and the spacious garden has swings and plenty of space for outdoor games, boules, badminton, etc. Our indoor games room has equipment for table tennis, darts, table football and basket ball.

  The nearest village, St-Clair-sur-Elle provides all the daily needs, having 2 boulangeries, a charcuterie, supermarket, post office, chemist and doctor’s surgery, bar and restaurant. St-Lo is only 6 miles away, with a full range of shops, supermarkets, some excellent restaurants and a Saturday market. La Boulangerie is within half an hour’s drive of the Normandy landing beaches and the beautiful historic city of Bayeux. Le Mont Saint-Michel, la Suisse Normande and cliff walks in the Cotentin Peninsula are all within easy reach. For the sports minded, there is tennis, cycling, golf, horse riding and kayaking nearby.The area is renowned for its sea and river fishing. There are also activity parks, zoological gardens, many châteaux and historical sites close by. The forest of Cerisy is only 10 minutes away. As a break from driving, there are regular train services from Lison (5 minutes away) to Cherbourg, Bayeux, Paris and Rouen. 

 The bilingual owners are on hand to offer help and advice and ensure visitors make the mostof their holiday in Nomandy.
