The nearest village, St-Clair-sur-Elle provides all the daily needs, having 2 boulangeries, a charcuterie, supermarket, post office, chemist and doctor’s surgery, bar and restaurant. St-Lo is only 6 miles away, with a full range of shops, supermarkets, some excellent restaurants and a Saturday market. ELLA is within half an hour’s drive of the Normandy landing beaches and the beautiful historic city of Bayeux. Le Mont Saint-Michel, la Suisse Normande and cliff walks in the Cotentin Peninsula are all within easy reach. For the sports minded, there is tennis, cycling, golf, horse riding and kayaking nearby.The area is renowned for its sea and river fishing. There are also activity parks, zoological gardens, many châteaux and historical sites close by. The forest of Cerisy is only 10 minutes away. As a break from driving, there are regular train services from Lison (5 minutes away) to Cherbourg, Bayeux, Paris and Rouen.
