Pretty stone cottage in peaceful location high on the hills with views of the Aubrac Mountains.

The owners of this pretty stone cottage have made it a perfect retreat for two, or by using the barn extension, very spacious accommodation for two couples or for a family. Set high on the hills above the Gorges du Lot the views from the cottage and garden extend to the Aubrac Mountains and to the Massif Central beyond. Wild violets grow in abundance in the spring time and the garden that surrounds the house is laid out to lawns and rockeries. The quiet lanes are perfect for walking or cycling or to observe the large variety of birdlife that inhabit this most tranquil of settings. Sightings of Harriers, Buzzards, Hoopoe, Woodpeckers and Cuckoo are common.

The cottage is extremely well furnished and suitable for holidays at all times of the year. The main features being the large inglenook fireplace with logs provided and the craftsman built oak staircase leading to the gallery bedroom. Patio furniture and a barbeque are provided for quiet evenings at home.

Two miles from the cottage is the village of Le Nayrac with local shops a post office and two very good restaurants. The local Golf Club de Mezeyrac is only 20 minutes by car and has a restaurant and bar open at lunchtime and in the evenings. The Lac du Selves with a variety of watersports facilities, is only five minutes by car with beaches where you can swim.

From Le Nayrac a picturesque drive of some fifteen minutes will take you to Estaing with its enchanting chateau, two very good restaurants and many small shops.

The knife making centre of France Laguiole is well worth a visit and for visitors at the end of May, the Transumance , when cattle of the region are moved to high pastures for the summer, is an unforgettable experience.
