Au Poucouret sits in 2.5 acres of wooded grounds surrounded by fields, off a quiet lane between the hamlets of St Ost and Cuelas, with views south down the valley to the highest of the Pyrenees. It dates from 1850, and was until the early 1980's, a working farm.

Since acquiring it, the owners have carried out extensive renovations and redecorations culminating in the completion of the 10x5 metre pool in summer 1999.

There is a large kitchen/dining room and entrance foyer with two large tables and seating for a dozen or more, gas/electric stove, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave etc. and a wood-burning stove. Behind are doors to the back terrace and adjacent pool and to a utility room with second fridge, washing machine, ironing board, and a shower room and toilet. Beyond the kitchen area is the hall, and understair toilet, a separate shower room and toilet, and then the comfortably furnished living room with the original working fireplace and bread oven.

Upstairs off the main landing are two large, square bedrooms each with double bed, single bed, fireplace, wardrobes, beamed ceilings and views south to the mountains. Behind, under the eaves, are a small twin room, second landing, a bathroom, a large L-shaped dormitory with four single beds, a small double room and 2 full bathrooms, one with a separate shower unit.

Outside is the back terrace and pool with lawn, shrubbery and trees stretching up to the top field boundary, whilst the open barn at the front provides further space for eating outside, badminton and basketball, clothes drying etc. A wooded section with small ponds screens the house from the lane between St Ost and Cuelas.
