A delightful newly renovated farmhouse for rent(circa 1865) with outbuildings, comprising a bread oven and an old tobacco drying barn in the hamlet of La Vayssiere in the Lot. Set in one acre of gardens is a 10 metre x 5 metre swimming pool with Roman steps and 'jet streams', ideal for energetic swimmers or just a relaxing massage. Underwater lighting makes it a joy to have a late night swim under a star studded sky. The property has recently been renovated, retaining original stone walls and beams. The first floor sleeps 4 comfortably ( 1 twin + 1 double bedroom).There is a single bed on the landing. All bed linen is supplied. Also, on the landing, is a library of novels, a range of boardgames, puzzles, videos and DVDs. There are two shower rooms, one on each floor, equipped with shower, basin and WC. The spacious ground floor is open plan with stairs leading up to the first floor and there are windows overlooking the grounds on one side and a country lane on the other. There is a sitting area with satellite tv, video and DVD player. The dining area, which can comfortably seat 6, is adjacent to the fully equipped kitchen area with its dishwasher,7kg washing machine, cooker/oven, large fridge and integral freezer, microwave and usual range of small electrical appliances. There is a very large terrace surrounding the pool where it is extremely pleasant to have al fresco meals. There is ample hardwood garden furniture provided, including loungers, steamer chairs and barbecue. With immediate access from the garden to the beautiful woods and countryside which surround La Vayssiere, it's so easy to switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Ideal for the active and the less-active!! This is a superb place to stay whilst discovering the many splendours of the Lot which is rich in its attractions and its enchanting scenery which will not fail to work its magic on you. Housekeeping at the end of the let is included in the rent.

3km away is the historic village of Le Vigan with all amenities: butcher, baker, hairdresser, supermarket, doctor, pharmacy, cafe bar and two restaurants. 7km beyond Le Vigan is the historic town of Gourdon with its excellent shops, restaurants (allowing you to sample the gastronomy and fine wines of this area), supermarkets, pavement cafes twice-weekly market, cinema showing English films in the high season, as well as regular open air evening events in the town. La Vayssiere is in between the rivers Dordogne and Lot. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside with easy access to chateaux, prehistoric caves, vineyards and fortified towns with famous names like Rocamadour, Domme, Sarlat, Saint Cirq la Popie and Sarlat
