French Holiday farmhouse with a pool in the Charente in France. Originally an old farmhouse, Maison Puits (so called because of its integral well, now safely enclosed behind an iron railing) was extensively and sympathetically converted.

Our welcoming and attractive home is in a small hamlet set high on a sheltered hillside overlooking the river Dronne, and in the distance, the exquisite small town of Aubeterre with its famous monolithic church, sandy river beach, floodlit tennis, horse riding, cafes and shops.

Maison Puits offers peace and tranquility in beautiful setting, with wonderful panoramic views, local walks and cycling paths.

The picturesque Charentais stone house provides four bedrooms, two with king size doubles, a twin with 3ft beds and a split level twin with beds on a mezzanine, with a day /play room below. As access to these beds is via a ladder, they are only suitable for youngsters or agile adults! The sunny triple aspect living room has a magnificent stone fireplace, and English TV/VCR. The fully equipped kitchen and dining room (again with stone fireplace) both open on to the terrace by the pool.

The large pool has steps down in to the water, is floodlit for night time, and in the winter months can be covered for sheltered swimming! The attractive landscaped terraces and gardens have sun loungers, table and chairs, parasols, bicycles and outdoor games, barbeque, sandpit and toys for children.
