Cognac gite holiday rental accommodation with pool in the Charente. Our newly renovated gite is in a hamlet just 10 km from Cognac. It has 2 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 6 people The gite is situated in 2 acres of secure gardens surrounded by vineyards and woodland.

The living area which has exposed beams and stonework throughout maintains its character features but offers a high standard of comfort.
The gite has a large open plan living/dining area with satellite television, DVD, Video and free WiFi connection. The living room looks out via French windows to a pretty garden at the rear of the house. There is a dining area, that will seat 6 people.

The well equipped kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, fridge with a small freezer, microwave oven electric kettle, coffee percolator and toaster, an iron and ironing board are also provided. There is also a washing machine available

We offer 2 large bedrooms, one with a king size bed whilst the second has a double bed and both rooms are beautifully furnished with plenty of storage and hanging space. Both bedrooms have views over the garden at the front of the house where there is an abundance of fruit trees, in the right season you can help yourself to cherries, figs, apples, plums and peaches there is also a grand walnut tree at the end of the garden.

There is a 10m x 5 m swimming pool set in a very private garden with views over the woodland at the back of the property. The pool is equipped with sun loungers, table and chairs.
There is also a summer kitchen equipped with a fridge, sink, gas hob and gas barbecue and all that you will need to cook alfresco. There is a washing machine for your use. The area and pool are fully lit for you to enjoy the long summer evenings by the pool.

We have a beautiful large woodland with a river behind the property where you can walk, cycle or fish, we are also surrounded by vineyards and tranquil countryside.
The famous river Charente runs nearby and offers peaceful walks or scenic boat trips.

Steeped in history Saintes was originally a Roman settlement with a fantastic roman amphitheatre.

The ancient walled city of Angouleme is well worth a visit.
Royan is a seaside port offering lovely sandy beaches, a great zoo (La Palmyre is reportedly the best zoo in Europe and is a great day out). Royan also has a wonderful Sunday market.
