Ironically named 'La Maison Neuve' (The New House), the most recent building which stands on this charming "corps de ferme" is the 150 year old farmhouse, which adjoins the original 17th century cottage and a collection of pretty stone barns of similar age.Standing just outside the small hilltop village of Bellon, near Aubeterre-Sur-Dronne,

‘La Maison Neuve’ is perfectly located to explore not only the Charente and the Dordogne, but also the Atlantic Coast and the Gironde.

'La Maison Neuve' now hosts 5 independent holiday cottages, all tastefully furnished to a high standard, with private garden and patio areas, a large swimming pool and a smaller children’s splash pool. Our cottages give you freedom and independence coupled with the benefits of all the facilities provided in our communal areas. ‘La Maison Neuve' offers 5 charming cottages which are all architect designed and created to a high standard with a great “home from home” feel. All cottages are well-equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible and all have a clean, airy and summery feel whilst retaining original stone features and character.

1 Bed. Cottage (sleeps 2) - 1 double bedroom with shower room en-suite, kitchen/lounge/diner, microwave, coffee machine, toaster etc. South facing terrace with beautiful open views.

2 Bed. Cottage (sleeps 4) - south facing with private garden and terrace with lovely panoramic views - 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, kitchen/dining room, large lounge, 1 bathroom, 1 shower room. Dishwasher, sat.TV, microwave oven, coffee machine, toaster etc.

3 Bed. Cottages (sleep 6) - 1 double bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms, open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area, 1 bathroom, 1 shower room.TV/video player, microwave oven, coffee machine, toaster etc.

4 Bed. Cottage (sleeps 9) – east facing with its own garden and covered terrace looking over the main garden and pool area - 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, 1 triple bedroom, large farmhouse kitchen/dining/lounge room, 1 bathroom with 1 en-suite shower room and another separate WC. Dishwasher, sat. T.V., coffee machine, toaster etc.

Each cottage has its own private terrace with furniture and BBQ and of course you are always free to use the extensive gardens and grounds surrounding the property. A laundry room with washing machines, irons and ironing boards is available on site.

Our swimming pool is 12 m x 6 m, between 1.2m and 2m deep and with roman steps at the shallow end. In addition and next to the large pool is a children’s splash pool for younger swimmers. The whole pool area is walled and fenced for your comfort and safety and on the large surrounding terrace we provide sun loungers and parasols. The pool and pool area can be lit for evening swimming. We do ask that you bring your own pool towels.

Tariff - Peak season tariff for this year (2010) ranges from £275 (1 bed.) - £995 (4 bed) per cottage per week. Use of all facilities and equipment at ‘La Maison Neuve’ are included in the price quoted. This covers electricity, gas, water and all household linen, including towels.

ALL COTTAGES ARE THOROUGHLY CLEANED AND BEDS ARE FRESHLY MADE READY FOR YOUR ARRIVAL. A £300 security deposit is payable for each gîte rented. Long term rentals by negotiation. Winter heating at additional cost. Payment by cheque. Bookings run from 4.30pm Saturday to 10am Saturday, between 1 July and 1 September but at all other times we offer flexible booking periods. The number of guests staying in any gîte should not exceed the maximum number stated, unless by prior arrangement.
